Dear colleagues,

Best wishes for the new year! As the holiday season fades away, we invite you to take a look at our session GMPV5.11 "Magma reservoir processes: integrating geophysics and geochemistry" at the upcoming EGU 2016 General Assembly, scheduled April 17-22 in Vienna. As the title suggests, it is devoted to magma chamber processes, and it aims at being as multidisciplinary as possible in order to try and reconcile the diverse findings that can be obtained from different techniques such as geophysical inversion of ground deformation or detailed petrological investigations. We encourage anyone interested to submit an abstract. Catherine Annen will be our solicited speaker, and Wim Degruyter and Fabio Arzilli our outstanding young contributors. Early career scientists are especially welcome.

We remind you that abstract submission deadline is January 13 at 13:00 CET; you can find the full session description and submit an abstract at http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2016/session/20847.

Session contributors with eligible works are also encouraged to submit their manuscripts to the American Mineralogist special collection “Dynamics of magmatic processes” (C. Petrone and M. Petrelli Guest Associate Editors, http://www.minsocam.org/MSA/AmMin/special-collections.html).

Hope to see many of you in Vienna at GMPV5.11!

Chiara Montagna (INGV Pisa), Mickael Laumonier (University of Bayreuth), Daniele Morgavi and Maurizio Petrelli (University of Perugia)
