INTERDISCIPLINARY LECTURESHIP IN ENVIRONMENTAL GEOPHYSICS-R2709
The Bates College Department of Geology and Department of Physics and
Astronomy invite applications for a renewable,  three-year,
interdisciplinary Lectureship in Environmental Geophysics beginning in
September 2016. Research fields for this position are open, but might
include, for example, atmospheric or climate science, fluid dynamics
of the oceans, or environmental geotechnical fields. The successful
candidate will teach four courses each year (a full course load is
five courses) in addition to advising theses in a rigorous
undergraduate program, with service requirements and research
expectations subject to negotiation. A.B.D. candidates welcome.

teaching and research, including plans for involving undergraduates in
a research program, and a description of the candidate’s experience
and interest in advancing the goals of diversity and inclusion
described above. Please also arrange for the submission of at least
two (preferably three) letters of recommendation. Employment is
contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
