Dear Colleagues,
We would like to bring to your attention Session NP3.7 “Multiscale modeling and analysis of environmental processes” in the NP3 – Scales, Scaling and Nonlinear Variability at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2016 Vienna | Austria | 17–22 April 2016. The session focus on environmental processes that often span spatial and temporal scales covering different orders of magnitude. The session is oriented in collecting studies relevant to understanding multiscale (possibly fractal) aspects of these processes, in proposing adequate modeling tools and is especially aimed at studies emphasizing the interaction between environmental processes occurring at different scales. We also aim at contributions emphasizing the multiscale nature of Earth structures, relevant to environmental processes. In this context, contributions in numerical and analytical models, remote sensing methods and multisource data that cover several environmental fields such as: geodynamics, volcanology, seismology, earth critical zone (i.e. soil hydrology, landslide processes) and lower atmosphere are welcome.
