Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the session "G011: Measuring changes at volcanoes using geodesy: An update of methods and results" at the 2015 Fall AGU meeting (abstract submission deadline: 5 August 2015, 11:59 P.M. EDT). The session description is as follows:

Geodesy is an essential tool for monitoring and risk assessment during volcanic unrest, providing valuable data e.g. for exploring geometry and volume of magma transfer in magma plumbing systems. Recent decades have seen an explosion in the quality and quantity of volcano geodetic data, which has created a need for new approaches to geodetic data analysis, interpretation, and modeling. Geodetic data have different temporal and spatial resolution, as well as different origins (ground-, air-, and space-based), and new tools are needed for data fusion and joint interpretation, both between geodetic datasets and with other types of volcano monitoring results (seismic, gas, geology, etc.).  This is especially relevant now given the expansion in GEO’s Geohazard Supersites and Natural Laboratories initiative to sites around the globe.  We invite presentations ranging from observations to methodologies to theoretical studies of volcano geodesy, and especially those that involve multiple disparate datasets (both geodetic and non-geodetic).
