The USGS Volcano Science Center (CalVO) is advertising a geologist position in Menlo Park, CA.  Duties include managing and maintaining rock processing and geochemical laboratories, preparing samples for chemical analysis and geochronology, analyzing samples using microbeam techniques, GIS, safety responsibilities and assisting with geologic field work.  The position requires laboratory experience and the incumbent must be able to travel for fieldwork up to 6 weeks per year.  We are looking for a geologist with strong writing and communication skills and who works well with a variety of people.  The position is a GS-9 level, with a starting salary of $57,302 per year.  Information and application instructions are on USAJOBS
