Call for Papers

For a PAGEOPH Topical Volume on Geodynamics of the Latin American Pacific Margin

We invite submissions for a special issue of Pure and Applied Geophysics (PAGEOPH) entitled “Geodynamics of the Latin American Pacific Margin”. The goal is to provide a highly visible means by which researchers from a wide variety of disciplines can readily present their works to all others who share a common interest in the geodynamical processes occurring along the Pacific margin of Latin America and the effects that these processes have on the lives of the people living along this margin. We seek to assemble original research papers as well as comprehensive reviews dealing with characterizing the various geodynamic processes occurring along this margin as well as how these processes affect the geologic and seismic hazard potential for this area. Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to: morphotectonics; seismotectonics and seismic hazard potential; volcanology, petrology, geochemistry and thermal structure of the arc and underlying upper mantle; deep structure and dynamics of the subducted slab; and studies of the tsunamogenic potential along the margin.
The submission deadline is May 1, 2015. Papers will be published online shortly after being accepted. All accepted manuscripts will be published both as a topical issue of the journal PAGEOPH followed later (about one month) as a Book Reprint. Before submitting review articles please first contact William L. Bandy at the email listed below with the potential topic. Original research articles can be submitted at:
