Dear Collegues,

I would like to draw your attention to the NEMOH Short Course “Thermo-fluid Dynamics in Computational Volcanology”, aimed at Early Stage Researchers and PhD students and to be held in Pisa, Italy (3 March-6 March, 2015).

A team of modellers will lead 3 days of lectures, practical exercises and discussion related to

- Thermodynamics: from basic concepts to problem-solving in volcanology;

- Fluid dynamics: flow problems and boundary conditions in volcanology;

- OpenFOAM*: how it works and what you can do with it.

There will also be an info-day on EU research/funding opportunities for young scientists.

The deadline for registration is 11 February, 2015 and there is no registration fee. The number of participants will be limited to 24.

The official program with additional information and the application form can be found at: http://www.nemoh-itn.eu/images/school_pisa/nemoh_shcopi_circolar.pdf

Organization:

- Scientific Organization: Mattia de’Michieli Vitturi;

- Organization and Logistics: Raffaela Pignolo and Alessandro Fornaciai (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia).

Please share this information with students and friends who might be interested in joining us.

For any futher question, please contact: mattia.demichielivitturi@xxxxxxx and/or nemoh-itn@xxxxxxxxxx

Best regards and apologies for any cross posting
