Dear Colleagues
The University of Bristol is currently advertising for two postdoctoral research associates in the field of Volcano Geodesy:Applications are invited for a NERC-funded Postdoctoral Research Assistant, for two to three years, based in the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol. The successful applicantwill engage in an exciting new collaborative project aimed at understanding volcanism in rift settings. The RiftVolc project involves researchers from 6 UK universities, Addis Ababa University, the Geological Survey of Ethiopia and the British Geological Survey and will focus on the past, present and future behavior of the volcanoes in the Main Ethiopian Rift. The PDRA will be responsible for the geodetic component of the project, including fieldwork to run a cGPS and dynamic gravity network. The work will be supervised by Dr. Juliet Biggs, and will take place within the multi-disciplinary framework of the RiftVolc project.

Applications
are invited for a NERC-funded Postdoctoral Research Assistant,
initially for two years, based in the School of Earth Sciences at the
University of Bristol. The successful candidate will join world-leading
teams to develop the application of satellite radar interferometry to
understanding time-dependent volcanic hazard, and the processes
contributing to volcanic unrest. The successful applicant will work
within the NERC Centre for the Observation and Modelling of Earthquakes,
Volcanoes and Tectonics (COMET) and with the NERC-ESRC funded STREVA
project which aims to develop and apply a practical and adaptable
framework for volcanic risk assessment. The PDRA will be work on the
volcano InSAR components of this project, including developing global
approaches for Sentinel-1 data and using high-resolution data for
specific volcanic crises.
