Specialist in electron microbeam technique(s), Institute of Geochemistry and Petrology, ETH Zürich, 50-100%
The Institute of Geochemistry and Petrology at ETH Zürich invites applications for a specialist in electron microbeam techniques (electron microprobe and SEM) to be filled as soon as possible.
The position includes a 50 % appointment (preferably every morning of the week), which involves (1) help in taking care of the instruments (JEOL microprobe and SEM) and (2) help daily users acquiring the highest quality data. The successful candidate will work in a team with a senior scientist, but microprobe experience is required. The position can be extended to up to 100 % employment with a research component. The successful candidate will be part of active research groups at ETH focusing on experimental petrology, magmatology and volcanology, and there will be opportunities to interact with well-established groups in geochemistry, geophysics, geodynamic modeling and economic geology.
The length of the initial appointment is 2 years, extension being possible. Starting salary (for 100% employment) is 85 kCHF/year.
