Dear colleagues,

One of the sessions in the coming Cities on Volcanoes in Indonesia (http://www.citiesonvolcanoes8.com) is “Volcanic Gas Surveillance: Applications to Monitoring and Hazards”(1.I.B).
This session focuses on what we can learn from volcanic gas surveillance and the interpretation of geochemical and isotopic gas data during volcanic unrest in terms of improved understanding of magma degassing processes, magmatic-hydrothermal interactions, and associated hazards. We invite contributions addressing these topics, and particularly encourage submissions concerning applied gas geochemistry, studies of Indonesian and Southeast Asian volcanoes, and synergistic interpretation of gas measurements with geophysical and other surveillance data.

Conveners:
Philipson Bani (IRD/LMV Clermont-Ferrand, France ; CVGHM, Bandung, Indonesia)
Florian M Schwandner (JPL, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena CA, USA
Patrick Allard (IPGP, Paris, France)
Clive Oppenheimer (University of Cambridge, UK)
Simon A Carn, (MTU, Houghton MI, USA)

The abstract submission deadline is Monday, April 14, 2014.

See you in Yogyakarta
