EGU 2014. Spatially resolved geochronology, tracer isotopes and trace element geochemistry************************************************************************************************
Dear Colleagues,
Apologizes for multiple postings.
We
would like to encourage you to submit an abstract to the following
session at the next EGU General Assembly in Vienna (27 April - 2 May
2014).
Spatially resolved geochronology, tracer isotopes and trace element geochemistry (GMPV6/SSP2.5/SSS3.7)
Recent
advances in the in situ microanalysis and microsampling of accessory
minerals (e.g., zircon, monazite, apatite, titanite, allanite), have
opened up new opportunities for obtaining a better understanding of the
diverse geochemical information preserved in those minerals. Typical
applications for such analysis include magma chamber processes,
metamorphism, provenance of sediments, etc. These advances have also
provided a spatially resolved means for comparing geochemical
information preserved at the inter- and intra-mineral and bulk rock
scales. We welcome contributions from researchers using EPMA, SIMS,
LA-ICPMS, LA-MC-ICPMS, and TIMS instruments to analyze accessory
minerals at the inter- and intra-mineral length scales that describe
improvements in the techniques as well as relevant case studies.
Invited speakers:
Balz Kamber (Trinity College Dublin)
Jan Kosler (University of Bergen)
Hisayoshi Yurimoto (Hokkaido University)
Important deadlines:
Abstract submission: 16 January 2014, 13.00 CET
