Graduate Student Opportunities in Volcano Infrasound

I am seeking two motivated graduate students (M.S. or Ph.D.) to conduct funded volcano-infrasound research at the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Both projects will involve field work at remote volcanoes in Kamchatka, Russia; Japan, and potentially Alaska. Strong math and programming skills, as well as backpacking experience, are desired though not required. Research will focus on volcano infrasound, with an emphasis on combining infrasound with remote sensing, field observations, and seismology to understand volcano source processes and mitigate volcanic hazards. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Alaska Volcano Observatory.
