On behalf of the Editorial Board of Disaster Prevention and Management (DPM) www.emeraldinsight.com/dpm.htm we invite you to consider our journal for publishing your research on disasters.
DPM sets out to advance knowledge in the broad field of disaster risk reduction and management. It aims at providing a platform for bridging the gap between a large array of academic disciplines and stakeholders, including policy makers, practitioners and representatives of the civil society / local communities.
DPM submissions are peer-reviewed by two external experts and the editors to determine acceptance/rejection. Articles must be short (maximum 4000 words) and straightforward, avoiding technical jargon. Author guidelines are at: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/products/journals/author_guidelines.htm?id=dpm
The journal publishes conceptual and theoretical reflections, methodological contributions, policy and practice briefings, case studies, and reports from the field. Special issues and book reviews are also most welcome. Book reviewers are encouraged to send their review to the book author(s) to solicit a reply that is published alongside the review. To encourage junior scholars, we plan to dedicate one issue per year to articles written by students of any level and discipline.
Please approach us for more details and proposal templates: jc.gaillard@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or melluna_up@xxxxxxxxx. For authors from less affluent countries and non-native English speakers, we provide support throughout the reviewing and publication process. Our Assistant Editor, Kim Hagen (K.Hagen@xxxxxxxxxx), is here to assist you.
Emerald, is presently offering free access to the journal until 18th of January 2012. To access the journal please visit: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/journals.htm?issn=0965-3562 and use the following log-in details:
