Fall AGU Meeting 2012, San Francisco, CA, 3-7 Dec 2012.

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention and invite you to submit an abstract to the following AGU 2012 poster session:

V018. Geologic Maps as a Basis for Integrated Studies in Volcanology and Tectonics

Geologic maps provide essential stratigraphic and structural constraints on eruptive history of volcanoes, emplacement and evolution of intrusive bodies, and temporal and spatial relationships between tectonism and magmatism in a wide range of settings. Increasingly, geologic mapping is integrated with information from geophysics, geochemistry, and geochronology. Digital processing and imaging of large amounts of data has opened up new opportunities for integrating mapping with multiple data sets. We invite contributions to this poster-only session that feature geologic mapping and derivative products that illustrate the critical role of geology in understanding tectonomagmatic processes.

Conveners:
Ren Thompson, United States Geological Survey
Julie Donnelly-Nolan, United States Geological Survey
Anita Grunder, Oregon State University
Christopher Condit, University of Massachusetts

Please note the abstract submission deadline is 8 August 2012.
