CALL FOR PROPOSALS

 

67th Annual Meeting

Southeastern Section, Geological Society of America

20–21 March 2013

Caribe Hilton Hotel, San Juan, Puerto Rico

 

 

Dear GSA members and friends:

 

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the forthcoming 2013 Southeastern Section meeting of the Geological Society of America (Puerto Rico, March 20-21), we would like to ask you to submit your proposals for scientific sessions, pre- or post-meeting field trips, workshops, and short courses.

 

Submission of session proposals should contain the following items:

1. Name of the proposed session.

2. Names of conveners with affiliations and e-mail addresses. The leader should be marked.

3. The content of the proposed session (<300 words). Should include a brief overview and significance of the proposed session, and fields of the expecting contributors.

4. Names of potential keynote speakers with affiliations.

5. Special consideration needed by the technical program committee, if any.

 

Submission of field trip proposals should contain the following items:

1. Description of the field trip (<300 words). Should include a brief overview and significance of the proposed trip

2. Names of field trip leaders with affiliations and e-mail addresses.

3. Special consideration needed by the field trip committee, if any.

 

Submission of workshop or short course proposals should contain the following items:

1. Description of the workshop (<300 words). Should include a brief overview including workshop/short course significance and planned target audience. 

2. Names of workshop/short course leaders with affiliations and e-mail addresses.

3. Special room and audio/visual needs, if any.

 

The session proposals should be sent to the Chairs of the Technical Program Committee by June 18, 2012.  Technical Program Committee Chairs: Aaron Cavosie (aaron.cavosie@xxxxxxx) and Pablo Llerandi-Román (llerandp@xxxxxxxx).

 

The field trip proposals should be sent to the Chairs of the Field Trip Committee by June 18, 2012.  Field Trip Committee Chairs: Wilson Ramírez (wilson.ramirez1@xxxxxxx) and Thomas Miller (thomase.miller@xxxxxxx).

 

If you have any plan of a workshop or short course before, during or after the meeting, please send the proposals to the Chairs of the Technical Program Committee by June 18, 2012.
