Dear volcano followers.
A recent nocturnal visit to the West Crater (Turrialba volcano, Costa Rica) revealed
several simultaneaous, incandescent spots. SW vent (Boca 2010), N vent (Boca
2011) and SE vent (Boca 2012) show differential gas and vapor outputs, while
showing different incandescence levels. The latter one (opened on January 12th
)
registers temperatures above 700ºC.
For a visual reference here is a brief report (comments in English).
A more comprenhensive report will be out soon.
