Dear Colleagues,

 

                     Two post-doctoral positions are available at INGV Pisa, Italy, as part of the ERC 2011-StG project CO2Volc “Quantifying the global volcanic CO2 cycle”, for research scientists to build a new generation of optically-based volcanic gas instruments. One contract will focus on the development of a CO2 LIDAR, and the other on the development of in-situ instruments to measure volcanic gas composition and isotopic ratios. We are looking for candidates with Ph.D.’s in fields related to optoelectronics, and who ideally would have experience in LIDAR and laser spectroscopy respectively. The contracts are initially for 1 year extendable for up to a further 2 years. The deadline for applications is 1st March 2012.
