Nominations for Day Medal of GSA, 1 Feb deadline
From: Barb Dutrow <dutrow@xxxxxxx>
*****************************************************************************************

Dear Colleagues,

My apologies for multiple postings.

Please consider nominating exceptional candidates for *The Arthur L. Day Medal of the Geological Society of America*. Deadline for applications is 1 February 2012.

The Arthur L. Day Medal is awarded for outstanding distinction in
contributing to geologic knowledge through the application of physics
and chemistry to the solution of geologic problems.

The award's intent is to recognize outstanding achievements and inspire
further effort of a mid-career scientist rather than to reward a
distinguished career. Scientific achievements should be considered
rather than contributions in teaching, administration, and service.

Nominations are made online and consist of a CV with 20 titles or less,
nomination letter, and five letters of support (3 from GSA Fellows).
For additional information on the nomination, please
visit - http://www.geosociety.org/awards/nominations.htm.

For a list of past awardees, please visit:
http://www.geosociety.org/awards/past.htm#day.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Diane C.
Lorenz-Olsen at GSA, dlorenz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, or Barb Dutrow, Committee
Chair.

Thank you!
