We warmly invite you to consider submitting an abstract for the joint EGU/AGU session GMPV1.2/VGP2: Impact on global climate and economy of volcanic eruptions, past and present, at the annual EGU General Assembly in Vienna, 22-27 April 2012.
The deadline for abstract submission is 17th January 2012, and abstracts can be submitted here:

Applications for financial support for meeting attendance have a deadline of 15th December, this can be done by simply highlighting the type of requested support on the abstract submission form.
The session description is below:
Volcanic eruptions can produce dramatic economic and climatic impacts over local, regional and global spatial scales and a wide range of timescales. The objective of this session is to bring together volcanologists, economists and stakeholders in the economics of eruptions to examine the magnitude and method by which eruptions affect both climate and economic activity. We focus in particular on quantifying climatic and economic impacts of volcanic eruptions in the past and the potential climatic and economic impacts that various eruptive scenarios may have in the future.
