Dear colleagues (sorry for potential cross-postings),

we would like to draw your attention on our EGU session "Electromagnetic,
seismic and other geophysical methods applied to volcano imaging and
monitoring for hazard assessment", see details below.

Note, submission deadline is the 15th of December 2011 for those applying
for support, or 17th of January 2012 otherwise.

Hope to see many of you in Vienna next year.
Kind regards,

Marion Miensopust, Martin Hensch, Alan Jones

SM5.7/GMPV6.14/NH2.3
Electromagnetic, seismic and other geophysical methods applied to
volcano imaging and monitoring for hazard assessment

Convener: Marion P Miensopust, Martin Hensch, Alan G Jones

Due to the recent eruptive events in Iceland and Chile, the scientific
interest is overwhelming in gaining as much information about volcanic
structures and processes to enhance understanding of volcanic systems
world-wide. This session will focus on the contributions that
electromagnetic, seismic and other geophysical methods can provide to
increase the knowledge and understanding.

We invite contributions of all kinds of geophysical methods from the
more established ones like, e.g., seismic observations, to the ones that
are not commonly applied to volcanic systems yet like, e.g.,
electromagnetic methods. This session will be an opportunity to present
new developments, approaches and strategies related to geophysical
volcano imaging and monitoring as well as case studies from any volcanic
system in the world.
