ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN NUMERICAL MODELING OF EARTH SYSTEMS -- UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI
The Department of Geology seeks a geoscientist for a tenure-track position in numerical modeling of Earth systems with an anticipated appointment of August 1, 2012. The individual will be expected to focus research and teaching on aspects of the investigation of the dynamics of various Earth systems (e.g., climatic and/or tectonic) and the linkages among them in the time frame of both recent and ancient Earth history. Applicants should have interests in one, and preferably more, of the following specific approaches: 1) climate modeling, 2) basin/tectonic modeling, 3) biogeochemical cycle modeling and 4) paleobiological modeling. The successful candidate will be expected to generate external funding as part of his/her research program, mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and help to expand undergraduate and graduate courses of interest to students in the Department of Geology.
