Bristol PhD in magmatic hydrothermal systems
From: Alison.Rust@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
**************************************************************************************************

There is a funded PhD studentship available at the University Bristol on flow and reaction in magmatic hydrothermal systems.  The core of the project will be laboratory experiments of fluid-rock interactions with measurements of changes in the rock and fluid properties with time under a range of conditions. The results will contribute to the development of numerical simulations coupling heat and solute transport to simulate the dynamics of hydrothermal systems and to assess their role during volcanic unrest.

The supervisors are Tom Scott (Interface Analysis Centre), Fiona Whitaker and Alison Rust (Earth Sciences).

Start date: Ideally before April 2012 (but later start dates will be considered)
Full funding is available for European students.
