Hi All,

A friend just sent me this link to a video on what is commented on as “Chilean volcano fills lake with ash. Lake Nahuel Huapi in Argentina fills with ash from the Puyehue volcano that is erupting in neighbouring Chile” (The Telegraph 28 June 2011).

That certainly helps to explain the evidence of surface-based "blowing ash" that was seen in GOES-12 visible imagery on days such as 11 June 2011:
