Volcanic Ash and Aviation Workshop
IUGG 2011 has planned a workshop to discuss volcanic clouds and aviation: "Eyjafjallajökull, volcanic clouds, and aviation - one year on.", starting on Friday 8th July and extending to the following morning. We are pleased to make more places available for this workshop during which the Grímsvötn and Puyehue-Cordón Caulle eruptions will also be discussed. It is also possible for non-IUGG participants to register for this workshop only. Confirmed speakers include Mr Raul Romero, Secretary of the International Civil Aviation Organisation's International Airways Volcano Watch Operations Group. Representatives of the Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre and the aviation industry will also participate.
