Introducing VPOW - Volcano Picture of the Week / Invitation to contribute
Dear All, in cooperation with a number of other volcano photographers I have set up a new non-commercial website for presenting high quality volcano photos: www.vpow.org
The site is partially modelled on the internationally highly successful "Astronomy Picture of the Day" and is intended to give EVERYONE with a top volcano image the possibility to present it to a wider audience.
One image will be selected every week. Please view the archive to see what kind of images are likely to be selected (a number of sample images have been kindly provided by various photographers) and follow the link to the submission guidelines if you have made an image(s) that you would like to submit. Top images of current volcanic events and older "classic" shots are equally welcomed.
The site will provisionally run in English with a mini selection committee, although if interest is sufficient we will widen the input on image selection and support anyone wishing to set up mirror sites in other languages (e.g. French, German, Spanish etc.).
