Dear Colleagues:
(with apologies for multiple postings)
We would like to bring to your attention and encourage contributions to the following
special session in the upcoming Godschmidt conference at Knoxville, Tennessee. The
session description is given below -
*
03a*: Volatiles in Earth & Planetary Interiors
This session will focus on experimental, geochemical and modelling studies on the
distribution and behavior of volatile elements in the interiors of the Earth and other
solar system bodies. Subjects will include experimental studies of the solubility and
partitioning of volatile elements in deep-Earth minerals and melts, systematics of the
abundances and isotope variations of volatile elements in the Earth, Moon, Mars, and
other solar system bodies, and modelling of the behavior and budgets of volatiles during
planetary accretion, plate subduction, mantle convection, mantle melting, magma
migration, and volcanic eruptions - including both major (H, C, N, F, S, Cl) and trace
(Br, I, noble gases) volatiles.
Please note, that the abstract deadline is fast approaching and is only ten days away
(February 21st, 2010 Abstract submission deadline [23:59 UTC]):
