The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN), located at the
University of Washington, is excited to announce a postdoc opportunity
in volcano seismology.  The position involves 50% volcano-related
research and 50% network-related activities such as station siting,
installation and maintenance.  The position has a two-year term.  The
deadline for application is February 5, 2010 with a start date no
later than April 1, 2010.

Some responsibilities include:
--Implementing software programs to track seismic swarms and
earthquake families.
--Implement software programs to detect and report volcanic tremor and
(in collaboration with colleagues at the Cascades Volcano Observatory)
to compute RSAM and SSAM data products for Cascades volcanoes.
--Perform research to determine Earth structure at several Cascade volcanoes.
--Present results of network research at scientific meetings.
--Maintain and potentially deploy a temporary network of broadband instruments.
--Develop and employ new techniques for the effective operations of
real-time data acquisition, processing, and reporting systems, as well
as post-processing and data archival and retrieval systems.
--Maintenance and development of content on the PNSN webpages.
--Monitor and maintain the digital and analog seismic data acquisition.
