********************************************************************************* UCLA Ion Microprobe Student Workshop From: Axel K. Schmitt <axel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ********************************************************************************* UCLA Ion Microprobe Student Workshop (February 16-19, 2010) The UCLA SIMS laboratory hosts its third annual workshop on ion microprobe applications in Earth Sciences. The workshop emphasizes microanalytical geochronology and stable isotope geochemistry with large radius magnetic sector SIMS, and we encourage applications from students in disciplines such as geology, geochemistry, cosmochemistry, biogeochemistry, mineralogy, or environmental sciences whose research can benefit from the SIMS approach. The workshop is taught over 4 days, with arrival and departure on February 15 and 20, 2010, respectively. NSF's Instrumentation and Facilities program will sponsor student travel, accommodation costs, and course materials for domestic participants. Graduate students and advanced undergraduates (with recommendation letter of an academic supervisor) can apply via: http://sims.ess.ucla.edu/STUDENTWORKSHOP.php. Applications will be accepted up to 12/18/09, with notifications sent on 12/18/09. Thank you. Axel K.
