Postdoctoral Research Position
From: Paul Renne <Postdoc2009@xxxxxxx>
*************************************************************

The Berkeley Geochronology Center (BGC; www.bgc.org) invites
applications for a 2-year postdoctoral research position working with
one or more of BGC's scientists
(http://www.bgc.org/people/faculty.html) involving the development
and/or application of state-of-the-art geochronological and/or
paleomagnetic techniques. The BGC has mass-spectrometry-based
laboratories for isotopic geochronology and thermochronology based on
40Ar/39Ar, (U+Th)/He, U-Th-Pb, U-series, and other radiogenic isotope
methods; and a modern paleomagnetic laboratory. Preference will be
given to candidates who will pursue innovative analytical techniques
and/or address questions of unusual significance involving, e.g.,
magmatic systems, tectonics, geomorphology, paleoclimatology,
chronostratigraphy, planetary science, paleoanthropology or
archeology. Candidates will be expected to have a strong background
in isotope geochronology, isotope geochemistry, or paleomagnetism/rock
magnetism. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
Starting date is negotiable. Applicants should send an email with
curriculum vitae, brief statement of research interests, and the names
and contact information for three references as a PDF attachment to
Director Dr. Paul Renne (Postdoc2009@xxxxxxx). BGC is an equal
opportunity employer and encourages applications from women and
minorities.
