The successful applicant will join the team of scientists monitoring the ongoing eruptions of the Soufriere Hills Volcano and lead the monitoring and research efforts at the MVO in the area of Seismology. The position also provides an opportunity to become engaged in research undertaken by the SRC in the wider Caribbean. Completion of a PhD in Earth Science or a related field is desirable, but not essential. Experience in seismology and seismic monitoring, authorship of scientific publications and contributions that have advanced the field of volcano seismology is desirable. The appointment is initially made for 3 years and can be extended non competitively subject to funding availability.
