I would like to invite abstracts for the following Natural Hazards session
at the EGU General Assembly that will be held in Vienna, Austria on 19-24
April 2009.

NH10.10 - Creating Collaborative Cyber-Infrastructure for Natural Hazard
Management

Convener: M.F. Sheridan / Co-Convener: A.C. Costa

Cyber technology has reached a stage where the time is right for developing
new open mechanism on the internet for dissemination of ideas, data, and
models regarding geologic hazards and volcano-related situations in
particular. We would like to propose a forum for discussing various
web-based frameworks for promoting better communication and information
transfer among researchers and others with a common interest in various sets
of geophysical mass flow models. This session would highlight presentations
on existing HUB structures and recommend guidelines that would be useful for
developing additional web-based structures for improving and dissemination
conversations among geoscientists regarding models, data, and applications.
This session will not deal with models, per se, but rather with the
development of communication systems among scientist and others who use and
test models.

****************************************************************************

Please note that the deadline for abstract submissions is 13 January.
Abstracts can be submitted at the URL below.
