The Department of Geological Sciences invites applications for a
residential fellowship as a Meierjurgen Faculty Fellow for one term
during academic year 2009-2010. Requirements are one term in residence
and one departmental seminar. The recipient will receive a $15,000
stipend. Selection criteria include academic merit, collaborative ties
with faculty, and likely use of departmental facilities or regional
field areas. PhD in geology or related field required. The Department
and University house an array of modern instrumentation and are
located in a geologically active region.

U.S. citizenship is not required. Application consists of a one-page
letter of intent indicating the desired term of residence and a
complete curriculum vitae to the Meierjurgen Fellowship Committee,
Department of Geological Sciences, 1272 University of Oregon, Eugene,
Oregon 97403-1272. Review of applications will begin on January 26,
2009 and continue until the position is filled.
