Dear colleagues,

We would like to remind you that September 10, 2008 is the deadline for
abstract & early registration for the 10th Field Workshop on Volcanic
Gases to be held in Mexico from November 10 - 20, 2008 and that October
10, 2008 is the deadline of the registration.

We would like to draw your attention to the following information:

- Registration fee is US $250 included Folder and materials, Ice breaker,
coffee-breaks, buffet lunches and field trip to Popocateptl volcano.
Field fee to El Chichón volcano is US $250
Registration is handled by Grupo Ecodsa in Mexico using this link:
http://www.ecodsa.com.mx/05calendario.htm

All registration fees increase by $50 after the 10 September early
registration deadline.

- If you are interested to participate on Colima volcano field trip please
contact Nick Varley (nick@xxxxxxx)

- Important note concerning El Chichon field trip:
El Chichon field trip will be hard and under primitive conditions.
Participants to this field trip are recommended to bring their tent,
sleeping bag, helmet and first-aid kit. Participants are advised to make
their own insurance arrangements. The Organizing Committee cannot be held
responsible for medical expenses, accidents, losses or other unexpected
occurrences.

- General information:
(1) Participants can send their abstracts before the workshop but it is
not an obligation. Abstracts will be printed in the Newsletter of The
Commission on the Chemistry of Volcanic Gases (CCVG) after this Workshop.
For the organization of the program we just need what kind of presentation
participants want to submit and the title of the contribution:

(2) Passport and visa
For specific information on entry requirements into Mexico, go to
http://www.sre.gob.mx/english/  (Services, Visas for foreigners (INM))

Rq: To avoid problems when passing through customs at Mexico airport,
please send us as soon as possible an e-mail with your name and the name
and address of the University and which kind of equipment (including
serial number) and/or special materials (ex: bottles of Giggenbach) you
will bring. You will then receive a document which you can show in case of
problem with Customs.
