If you have new research on models applicable to geohazards, please consider
submitting an abstract to session T111. "Modeling and Simulation of
Dangerous Phenomena, and Innovative Techniques for Hazard Evaluation,
Mapping, and Mitigation" for the GSA National Meeting in Houston, Texas,
which will be held 5-9 October 2008. This session, chaired by G.R. Iovine,
Michael F. Sheridan, and Manuel Pastor, will include discussions of
dangerous natural/ and man-made phenomena that affect people and properties
in many parts of the Earth. Papers on innovative hazard modeling,
evaluation, and mapping techniques for predicting triggering conditions and
development of dangerous phenomena are invited. June 3 is the deadline for
submission of abstracts for this session so only a short time remains.
Please email a copy of your abstract to Mike Sheridan
