Dear colleagues and friends,

The deadline for submitting contributions to the next EGU meeting is very
close (14 Jan 2008). Please consider submitting an abstract to the session:

GMPV24 New monitoring techniques applied to active volcanoes

As the monitoring techniques applied to active volcanoes increase, new goals
are focused by the geophysical community. These goals require a
multidisciplinary approach with a convergence of seismological, geodetic,
geochemical and volcanological results. Moreover one of the most important
characteristics of the new volcano monitoring techniques is a meaningful
combination of scientific and technological aspects. This session is
dedicated to highlight current community efforts regarding all the above
aspects of monitoring active volcano. Our aim is also to provide researchers
an occasion for comparing data and exchanging ideas. We welcome
contributions that deal with any of the above and related topics, including
seismological, acoustic, geodetic, geochemical, thermal, satellite and
remote sensing measurements, as well as data centralization, data
processing, cluster computing, grid computing and information technology
resources such as Web Services. Contributions that touch on scientific
management of volcanic emergency are also invited.

With our best,

M.Martini & M.Burton
