********************************************************************** From: Suzanne De Berge <suzanne@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ********************************************************************** Dec. 15, 2007, at about 5:30 am, Volcan Fuego began producing a significant plume of ash and steam and has continued to do so uninterrupted since that time (it is now 7pm). Observed from Antigua Guatemala, it has also produced considerable flow of ash (and possibly lava) down the eastern slopes, and presumably this is occurring much more significantly on the western slopes which are not visible from Antigua. Now that it is completely dark and cloudy, it is not possible to determine what is happening. Others have said that on the evening of the 14th, lava flow down the eastern slope was visible, as well as lava expelled upwards from the vent at the peak. ============================================================== To unsubscribe from the volcano list, send the message: signoff volcano to: listserv@xxxxxxx, or write to: volcano-request@xxxxxxxx To contribute to the volcano list, send your message to: volcano@xxxxxxxx Please do not send attachments. ==============================================================
