According to satellite data, there was no ash plumes near the volcano over the last several hours, but ash plumes continue to take up position over Kronotsky Bay and this may affect low-flying aircraft. According to seismic data, seismicity was slightly above background levels from 00:01 UTC on October 16. Volcanic tremor has not been registered from 14:00 UTC on October 15. Probably small, hot avalanches continue to occur at the volcano. Clouds obscured the volcano at this time.
