**************************************
The following has been received by AVO concerning a Russian volcano. Because of the current funding situation with KVERT, this information is being released by AVO.
All times are in Kamchatkan Standard Time (KST).
CHIKURACHKI VOLCANO, Paramushir Island, Northern Kurile: 50° 19\'N, 155° 28\'E
Elevation 1,816 m
According to visual data by people of Podgorny village (Paramuchir Island), weak ash explosions from Chikurachki were observed on March 04 . A continuous ash column has been observed at the volcano on March 05. Observers from Vasil\'ev cap (Paramushir island) reported the height of the ash plumes to be up to 1500 m, presumably above the summit, or approximately 11,000 ft. above sea level. No further information is known at this time.
Chikurachki Volcano erupted in 2005 and 2003. Ash plumes from the 2003 eruption may have reached as high as 6 km (19,700 ft.) above sea level.
