Dear All

Don't miss the chance to submit your abstract to the special session V16
"What is a volcano? New answers to an old question." The session will
reexamine basic concepts and terms in volcanology or that have developed
innovative approaches to answer long standing questions. The topics to be
covered include: volcanic terminology issues (i.e. naming of newly
discovered volcanic features vs. adapting already used terms), high
resolution dating showing that monogenetic cones might sometimes be the
result of more than one period of activity, the physical origin of excess
pressure in magma chambers, dike vs diapiric rise of magma, the origin of
anomalous magma compositions in otherwise normal tectonic scenarios,
volcanic activity in tectonically unexpected regions, etc.

More information about the session and the abstract submission form can be
found at

http://www.agu.org/meetings/ja07/

Remember: Abstracts submitted via the Online Submission Form must be
received no later than 1 March 2007 at 2359 UT (Universal Time).

The deadline for abstract submission is approaching faster than you want!!!!!

See you in Acapulco
