Dear Volcanophiles

We would also like to make you aware of another volcanically themed session-
"Volcanoes of the Pacific Basin and Rim: Geological and Geophysical
Observations" at the Geological Society of American (GSA) Cordilleran Section
meeting in Bellingham, Washington (May 4-6, 2007).

11. Volcanoes of the Pacific Basin and Rim: Geological and Geophysical
Observations.
Home to two-thirds of the world's active volcanoes and subject to ever
increasing population pressure, the Pacific Basin and Rim volcanoes are in
constant need of detailed geological and geophysical observations. This session
aims to encompass the broad spectrum of often complimentary geological,
geochemical and geophysical studies of these volcanic systems with an emphasis
on understanding the processes responsible for past, present and future
activity.

Convenors:
Michael Poland, Hawaiian Volcano Observatory-USGS [mpoland@xxxxxxxx]
Glyn Williams-Jones, Simon Fraser University [glymwj@xxxxxx]

Abstract deadline (electronic submission is best) is February 6, 2007. More
information regarding the meeting can be found at the following webpage:
http://www.geosociety.org/sectdiv/cord/07cdmtg.htm

Hope to see you there!
Glyn
