Specific themes include: * Structural, thermal and metamorphic evolution of orogenic belts * Fluid flow in the deep crust and contact aureoles * Genesis, transport and emplacement of granites and pegmatites * Viscosity, rheology and thermodynamics of magmas * Physical controls on lava flow morphology and evolution Students may be supported on Research Assistantship, through one of several current NSF-funded projects, or Teaching Assistantship. Current 9-month stipends are $15,000 for MS and $17,000 for PhD students, and tuition fees are waived for both RA and TA positions. Additional summer support is available.
