Fall AGU Sessions: Uses of Virtual Globes in Earth Sciences
*************************************************************
From: John E. Bailey <jbailey@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Dear Colleagues,
We would like make you aware of two sessions at AGU that look at the use
of Virtual Globes in Earth Sciences. These powerful tools (such as
Google Earth, NASA WorldWind, ArcGIS Explorer) are quickly becoming a
new paradigm in earth science, earth science education and outreach,
earth science logistics, and earth science data access.
Education and Human Resources : ED21
Session: The Use of Internet-Based Virtual Globes in the Earth Sciences
Conveners: Nolan, Bailey
Earth and Space Science Informatics: IN21
Session: Geoscience Applications in Virtual Globes
Conveners: Bailey, Dehn, Blair
Although interdisciplinary in nature these sessions will contain several
presentations on the use of these technologies for volcanology. The role
of Virtual Globes as natural hazards monitoring and mitigation tools is
particularly emphasized.
Further information can be found at:

Please contact the conveners with any questions.
