Dear VOLCANO subscribers,
This is to invite you to submit abstracts to the session:

SC-A 2: Volcano Seismology and Applications to Hazard Evaluation.

at the

 First European Conference on
Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (1st ECEES)
 4-8 September 2006, Geneva, Switzerland

The new information is that the deadline has been extended.

************** EXTENDED DEADLINE MAY 8 **************

Best regards.

Convenors:

Roberto Carniel , Dipartimento di Georisorse e Territorio, Università
di Udine, Italy, e-mail: roberto.carniel@xxxxxxxx

Summary:

The aim of this session is to discuss quantitative tools to evaluate
volcanic hazard with the use of seismic data but not only, i.e. we
welcome contributions that stress the multiparametric use of different
datasets, both from the theoretical point of view and from the point
of view of the application to specific case studies. The task of
characterizing the probability of a given eruptive scenario involves
in fact very different steps, going from monitoring and modelling to
the final, non-trivial step of "putting things together" with
approaches like bayesian belief networks and event trees.
