Dear friends

After 9 years of operation, the POVI-Team offers a spectacular publication in spanish
covering the behavior of Villarrica volcano, southern Andes of Chile, during the very
active year 2005. The URL and document below include more than 100 spectacular
photos taken as part of our visual observation project:

Villarrica, a basaltic-andesitic, glacier-covered stratovolcano,
is one of the most active volcanoes in Chile with more than 60
recorded eruptions since 1558. Since the last Strombolian eruption
in 1984-85 the top of the magma column has remained at
a high level showing subsidence and slow uplifts between the
upper conduit and the crater floor.

The volcano is officially monitored by the /Southern Andes /
/Volcano Observatory /(Ovdas-Sernageomin).
