Location Palmerston North Term of Contract Fixed Term of 3 Years Closing Date 12 March 2006 Position Overview We are seeking a PhD graduate with experience in one or more of the following areas: fluvial hydrology, fluvial/volcanic sedimentology, debris flow/flooding/avalanche studies, volcanology, geophysics, GIS and numerical modelling. You will investigate the characteristics and dynamics of a predicted Crater Lake-breakout lahar on Ruapehu volcano, assist in the development of geophysical monitoring techniques for lahars and debris flows, and contribute to testing and development of 2D numerical mass flow models.
