PostDoctoral Fellow (Mass flow/flood dynamics and modelling) (A598-05L)

Applications are invited for a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in the
Institute of Natural Resources - Earth Science, Massey University,
Palmerston North.
  
Location Palmerston North 
Term of Contract Fixed Term of 3 Years 
Closing Date 12 March 2006 

Position Overview 
 
We are seeking a PhD graduate with experience in one or more of the
following areas: fluvial hydrology, fluvial/volcanic sedimentology,
debris flow/flooding/avalanche studies, volcanology, geophysics, GIS and
numerical modelling. You will investigate the characteristics and
dynamics of a predicted Crater Lake-breakout lahar on Ruapehu volcano,
assist in the development of geophysical monitoring techniques for
lahars and debris flows, and contribute to testing and development of 2D
numerical mass flow models.
