[virt-manager PATCH 0/1] RFC: handle rolling distros

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I recently sent the addition of the "rolling" release status to
osinfo-db/libosinfo:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libosinfo/2019-February/msg00078.html

Once the above patch series is accepted, virt-manager can tweak its EOL
detection: if a distro has no EOL date set, then always consider it
supported. This way, existing rolling distros (e.g. Gentoo, Arch Linux,
etc) are always show when searching for a distro without enabling the
EOLed distros; OTOH, if a rolling distro is discontinued, adding a EOL
date for it will hide it by default.

RFC because of the dependency with another patch series which is still
pending. Of course, comments on the approach (or even on that series)
are welcome.
