Sure! - But next stable version would be 1.8 - wouldn't it?

So why no start redeeming pledges with 1.9?
I believe any day would be a good point to start :)


...or is it preferable see people move to real client/server systems and make 
them fit their every day requirements?
Networking has become familiar to lots of people without any IT background - 
nowadays lot of homes have a fritzbox with Wlan and a netbook with wlan too. 
Fritzbox has startet to integrate android phones with wlan - so that all is 
quite natural for non IT people yet.

So integrating a headless vdr into existing network is no more restricted to 
nerds (or at least every male teenager is a nerd).
