Why not allow the Pause key to be redefined in keymacros.conf, like the color and User? keys. I have not had a look into the code in vdr.c, but maybe this also requires some non-trivial changes in key processing to stacked event/handler tables with priorities and in such case this is not possible if only needed for this goal.
