SemiOT: vdr, suse, aver 771

I have an aver 771 (DVB-T) that I'd like to integrate into my vdr box 
actually running on Suse 8.1 and a Nexus.

I read somewhere that tha aver card has better support in kernel 2.6 so 
I'm ready to update in-place to Suse 9.2.

Please stop me if you think that the update will have no benefit or give 
me some clues on better integrating the Aver card.
