Other tools I have seen that are given the /dev/mapper/ friendly name canonicalize it TO /dev/dm-N, and it appears that is what mount.ntfs is doing as well, and it should not be. I agree that mtab should be recording the /dev/mapper name if that is what was passed to mount, but /dev/dm-N is the canonical kernel name of the device, so it seems we have a semantic misunderstanding here. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk2jkCMACgkQJ4UciIs+XuLQ+ACeP8Mn1jx45RLMI66nL8IopSV+ o7wAoL4Iw4qvTKLB4bUWRjPL2rTrhTyW =ShJz -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe util-linux" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
